Phase 001 » The Dead Messenger:
The Dead Messenger was my first personal site which contained the start of a half-assed "journal", some unfinished fiction, some poetry and some other odds and ends. This was the first website I'd ever written in complete, hand-typed html and served as a place for me to fiddle with new code and design. Needless to say it was pretty crappy. Not as bad as most beginner websites, but not anything good either. TDM was first hosted at Geocities and then Envy.nu. I eventually lost interest in the site and closed it down after 6 months of not updating.
Phase 002 » Little Sin:
After I'd closed down TDM I'd gone without a personal site for a while. I was more focused on the many webrings I ran and the fansite for Matt Czuchry which had become fairly popular. However, I was still surfing the web and reading blogs and personal sites by other people and after I'd gotten pretty confident in my html and graphic skills with photoshop and notepad, I decided I wanted a persoanl site of my own. So, on August 11th, 2001 I opened Little Sin which was hosted at Razorkisses.net and powered by Greymatter Blog software.
Tara at Razorkisses.net was good to me and through working on Little Sin and having a proper blog through Greymatter, I started using blogging as a from of therapy to help workout my inner demons. I lived at Razorkisses.net for about a year until tbe owner decided to close it down and I was forced to look for a new host. I found that host in Allie @ Acid-Stars.Com.
Phase 003 » Little-Sin.Net:
I had admired Allie for a long time while being hosted at Razorkisses so imagine my surprise when she offered to host my little blog. Soon, I was moved into Acid-Stars and had a good run there. In fact, I would have stayed hosted there longer had her hosting company not moved servers and fucked up my greymatter installation.
Although it sucked, because of the greymatter issue, I made the decision to either move to anther host or buy my own domain. After actually being offered hosting with another domain, I ended up turning down the hosting offer and using money I'd earned from a design project to purchase Little-Sin.Net.
In the past 5 years that I've owned Little-Sin.Net its gone through a lot of changes. Some of them good and some of the bad, but for the most part, this domain has been good to me. I'm still going along, discovering new things on the net and learning more about html and design everyday. I'm happy with my little corner of the web and hope I feel the same about it 5 years from now.
